We had the good fortune of connecting with Carmen Salvá del Corral and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carmen, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
At all times it was positive, I really did not realize the stones that I was going to find along the way

Can you open up a bit about your work and career?

We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
How difficult to answer all this together! What makes me most proud is my power to work without listening to my environment, to the society that is always setting guidelines and styles, I am excited to create, I am excited to use my imagination, my enthusiasm to capture my thoughts well in writing or in images. I got to be where I am thanks to the friendly hand that does not look at who gives it but appreciates your work, your effort and your enthusiasm. It has not been easy, as I have said before in this world of literature and painting you find many stones along the way, but like everything in life you overcome with effort and above all by believing in yourself and your work.
The lessons that I have been learning are clear: trust you, have enthusiasm in everything you do, and know that with desire and always trying to reach perfection everything arrives.

I would love for the world to read my titles or enjoy my painting because if the rest differ in one way, it is because of their positivity and wanting to convey the truth that we all carry inside.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

I love this question and I find it very easy to answer it, I would definitely take you to visit Bisbee. I would eat at Santiago’s, although I think it’s closed right now. I would drink at Old Bisbee Brewering, visit the old closed mine that still remains in the village. I would hang out at my friend Verónica’s house, one of the people I met there along with Adriana, Martin, Julie, Dan, Puspa, Michael, Tamara. Strolling through the streets of Bisbee is the most fun, pleasant, exciting and interesting since in this town of Arizona there are very diverse people from all over the world and curiously always with a very interesting story to tell. The shops are amazing, especially that of the local artisans. Both local and national festivals are enjoyed in a very special and fun way.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to? without a doubt to my husband, my children, my sister Esperanza and my friend-tutor Juan Antonio Pellicer
